The passion and knowledge of experienced service technicians are a huge part of helping keep operations running with the reliability Sullair is known for.
CompressAir is a Sullair Authorized Distributor with more than 30 years of experience serving Northern Indiana and Chicagoland. Meet Brad Wisenbaugh, a 16-year veteran service technician from the CompressAir team.
A “normal day” consists of executing a plan for resolution of unexpected compressed air, vacuum and compressed air dryer failures that arise. Such failures usually result in production levels at a given customer site coming to a silent halt. It’s my job to get that site back up and running as efficiently and effectively as possible.
“ The feeling of walking up to a piece of equipment that is inoperable and have the end result of getting it back up and running, is priceless to a Service Technician.”
My favorite part of my career is not only the challenges that come along with it but also the diversity of the challenges with the variations of compressed air, vacuum, and air treatment technologies available.
To be quite honest, I have given this question some thought and have yet to come up with a specific service call that stands out.
Being in this field for almost 16 years, I have had multiple opportunities over the years I’m honored to have been part of. From working to assist in the development of compressed air-related equipment for the Department of Defense that has saved soldiers’ lives to sharing my skills and knowledge to help others develop in their related careers—just as others have done for me. And ultimately, in this field, the feeling of walking up to a piece of equipment that is inoperable and have the end result of getting it back up and running, is priceless to a service technician.
Why do I work on Sullair air compressors? We, in this industry, all know the “heart” of a compressor is its air end. The first time I saw a Sullair air end was when it was suspended by a bracket from a truck frame in an underdeck PTO application. The rest of the truck—being from the 70’s—was destroyed by age and was in a natural rough state. The air end, still recognizably a Sullair, unfortunately went down with the truck. But, because of my natural curiosity, I had to see if it rotated. It did. Sullair is the face of reliability in the compressed air industry.
I work for CompressAir because I was fortunate enough to have been granted an opportunity to work among some of the best individuals I know. With being involved in factory direct service in my career history, I have had the opportunity to become familiar with multiple distributors. CompressAir is one of a kind in this industry and it is an honor to be part of the CompressAir team.

My weirdest day at work? Again, a hard one to answer, but here’s one that does stand out to me. I went to a service call on high pressure compressors for a natural gas application inside a building, out in the middle of nowhere, literally desolate. As quiet as it could be, I was the only noise present in the entire place and suddenly, I heard this roaring scream, to put it lightly, from something up above. I ran outside not knowing what to expect and…two A10 Warthog fighter planes practicing for a nearby airshow. That was a sight to see!
My best day at work is a safe, productive and effective day.
