How Will Sullair Respond to Climate Change?

Sullair is committed to doing its part to create a better and more sustainable future.

More than 70% of industries rely on compressed air—and energy represents more than 75% of the total costs of an industrial air compressor over its lifecycle, according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Sullair recognizes the impact our business can have on the environment and we are working hard to reduce our footprint. Our current initiatives include:

  • Transitioning to 100% renewable electricity in our global facilities
  • Implementing a voluntary carbon offset program
  • Undertaking capital expenditure projects to facilitate CO2 reduction in our global facilities
  • Continuously working to manufacture more efficient compressors: innovation and design focus is on efficiency improvements in both portable and industrial air compressor development
  • Ensuring our customers use their compressors more efficiently through education and pro-active advocacy?
  • Reducing landfill waste through our REMAN program and premium long-life service items
  • Requiring the removal of identified hazardous chemicals from our suppliers’ manufacturing processes

Our sustainability efforts are rooted in the culture and strategic vision of both Sullair and Hitachi, Ltd.

Hitachi Environmental Targets

In September 2020, Hitachi, Ltd. announced its medium to long-term environmental targets to realize a sustainable society and reduce CO2 emissions. All Hitachi Group Company offices and facilities, including Sullair, will become carbon neutral by fiscal 2030 and net-zero by fiscal 2050. In fact, Sullair aims to achieve carbon neutrality globally by fiscal 2023, well ahead of the Hitachi goal.

Sullair will continue to expand on delivering products that help reduce our environmental impact, further promote energy conservation, and utilize renewable energy.
